Kings Island Resort and Conference Center closes doors

Chain-link fencing and a sign advertising a coming auction were up around the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center on Kings Island Drive on Tuesday.

The facility's website is offline. A post on the Facebook page for the Cin City Reptile Show, which held monthly events at the facility, said it closed Sunday.

The 300-room facility was built as the Kings Island Inn in 1972 by then-Kings Island owner Taft Broadcasting and was featured in the "Brady Bunch" episode where the family visited the amusement park.

The hotel was sold by the park's owners in the 1990s.
